How to Order Repeat Prescriptions

Your repeat medication is usually medication that you take long-term for any medical problem. You can order repeat medications in any of the following ways:

  • by bringing in the right side of your prescription slip
  • by calling the Prescription Line between 9.30am and 2pm (1pm on Thursdays)
  • by requesting your items through the online system (for more information, please visit this page)
  • or by contacting your nominated pharmacy

Your prescriptions can be collected the next working day after 2pm from the surgery, or your pharmacy if you have signed up for the Electronic Prescription Service.

We have the right to refuse prescription requests made by phone after 2pm by  (1pm on Thursdays). You will be asked to call the next working day.

Acute Prescriptions

Acute prescriptions are usually issued for one off items or short-term problems. Anything not included on your repeat medications (the right hand side of your prescriptions) is referred to as an acute item. Usually, you will need to see a GP or Nurse for these. If you require these again, you will need to book an appointment for a review.
